FREE FISHING DAY CELEBRATED ON JUNE 7. The DWR to sponsor a special fishing event at the Carbon Fairgrounds Pond

On Saturday, June 7, Free Fishing Day will be celebrated throughout the state. Everyone, young and old, can fish without a license. All other fishing regulations apply.

Persons who are unfamiliar with fishing regulations should pick up a guidebook at the Division office in Price or at a nearby license agent. A number of department stores, grocery stores and hardware stores are license agents and will have fishing guidebooks.

On Free Fishing Day, the Division of Wildlife Resources will sponsor a special fishing event at the Carbon County Fairgrounds Pond from 8-11 a.m. The Division will provide rods, reels, fishing tackle and bait for everyone who doesn't have fishing equipment. Division personnel will also provide help and supervision for beginners and children.

Carbon County Recreation will participate in this special event by providing free donuts, hot chocolate and coffee. The event is free and everyone, regardless of age, is invited to participate. For more information, call the Division office in Price at 613-3700.
