Help Fill Sandbags

On May 18, at 10:30 a.m., a sandbagging effort will be held at the State Park in Green River. Sandbags will be filled and made ready for distribution. Agencies involved will be Emery County Sheriff's Office, Grand County Sheriff's Office and Utah State Parks. Volunteers from the community are needed and are welcome to participate. The Green River is expected to reach flood stage this year.

Sunnyside Rodeo Royalty Contest

The Sunnyside 61st Annual Rodeo will be held July 8 -9.

The Royalty contest will be held June 26 at 5 p.m. in the Sunnyside arena.

Royalty consists of Queen, first and second attendant - 13 years and up. Attendants may compete until they make Queen. Two princesses - 12 years and under may rein for two years as princess then compete for Queen's court at age 13. The contestants age is their age the day of the contest.

East Carbon High Reunion

The East Carbon High Class of '66 is holding a 45th reunion and is attempting to contact the following graduates: Randy Collins, Alice Hancock, Evelyn McManus, and Donna Waring. If you have any information, please contact Don Logston at (435) 888-6679 or (435) 636-2877.

Little Miss Emery Pageant 2011

The Little Miss Emery Pageant will be held on June 16 at Huntington Elementary. Categories for the pageant are:

Miss Teen; 13-17 years

Jr. Miss; 9-12 years

Little Miss; 5-8 years

Miss Photogenic

Participants must pre-register by May 25.
