Huntington man arrested on drug charges

Devon Boyd Potter, age 52, was arrested at his residence on a probation violation hold and drug charges on June 14, following a field visit by Adult Probation and Parole agents.

After entering the residence, agents observed Potter with illicit drugs. He was immediately taken into custody and placed in handcuffs. Adult Probation and Parole agents contacted Emery County Sheriff's Office dispatch and requested that members of the Emery County Drug Task Force and a K9 unit be sent to the residence. A search of the residence was conducted.

Potter, who is currently on probation for the offense of possession of a controlled substance, was arrested for possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance (marijuana) in a drug free zone (with priors), a first degree felony; possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance (methamphetamines) in a drug free zone (with priors), a first degree felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia in a drug free zone, a class a misdemeanor.

Potter's residence is in a drug free zone as there is a public park next to his backyard.
