The Emery County Commission reported the fencing project at the Lawrence cemetery has been completed. Commissioner James Nelson said the project looks very nice.

In personnel matters Larry Newman was promoted to road department foreman. The commission approved the hiring of Cheryl Cox as a court clerk for the justice court. The county elected to participate in the Wellness Clinic and will pay for flu, pneumonia and tetanus shots for county employees. The Emery Medical Center will be the provider for the Wellness Clinic. The medical center recently added a new doctor, Richard Donaldson DO to the staff. If a county employee participates in the clinic they will receive an additional four hours of paid vacation.

The commission approved the modification of the agreement between the forest service and the sheriff's office to provide law enforcement and patrol on the forest.

In preparation for the county fair, Castle Dale city put a new roof on the pavilion and improved the stage at the fairgrounds. The county approved $3,500 to Castle Dale City to help with costs in providing these improvements to the fairgrounds.

Brenda Tuttle Clerk/Auditor presented the audit to the commission. It was performed by Kimball and Roberts and it was a clean audit.

The county is in need of a permit for coverage of any runoff waters used in cleaning off airplanes in deicing operations at the Huntington Airport. The permit will cost $550 and be effective for several years.

The personal property tax exemptions for the year 2011 were approved.

Commissioner Laurie Pitchforth reported the recently completed fair went well.
