 | | Published 666 days ago | Happenings in Huntington: Hail storm destroys gardens
Huntington residents were hit by a hail storm on Monday that averaged 3/4 inches in diameter. Serious damage was done to gardens and homes in the area. Several roofs were damaged and the hail stones were so large and coming so fast they actually poked holes in siding on homes and dented several others.
Trees were stripped of their leaves as were all the plants in gardens. Tomatoes were pulled off the vine and all fruit left behind was dented. Pumpkins and squash were all dented by the large hail stones.
