For those of you looking for an Emery-Manti football story, you will just have to wait a week. Unfortunately with the Holiday weekend, this paper was put together Friday instead of Monday and the game was not even played yet. The Manti game and the North Sevier game will appear in this paper next week.

In a tune-up for the Friday night region game, the Emery High JV team and sophomore/freshman team hosted Manti Thursday afternoon in Castle Dale. In a split decision, the Emery JV lost a close game and the Emery younger players won. This gives each team a 1-1 record this season.

The younger team is made up all freshmen on the team, nine I think, plus some of the sophomores.

The JV team is made up of any player not a senior and not a varsity starter.

These two teams will be home next Thursday as Emery will host North Sevier. JV game will start at 4 p.m. with the other game to follow.

Emery varsity plays in Salina at North Sevier on Sept. 9.

They will play at home against American Leadership Academy on Sept. 16.

On Sept. 23 the Spartans will travel to Fillmore to take on Millard.

> On Sept. 30 is the homecoming game against Gunnison.
