The 2011 Castle Dale City General Election scheduled to occur on
November 8, 2011 to elect (3) three Council members has been canceled.
Section 20A-1-206. Utah Code Annotated, 1953 as amended, specifically
provides that a municipal legislative body may cancel a local election
if the number of municipal officer candidates, including any eligible
write-in candidates for the at-large municipal offices, does not
exceed the number of open at large municipal offices for which the
candidates have filed. Three (3) candidates have filed for the three
(3) open positions of Castle Dale City Council member. Therefore, a
general election will not be necessary and pursuant to Resolution
10-13-11 passed and adopted on October 13, 2011, the Castle Dale City
General Election scheduled on November 8, 2011 was canceled.
