Seven Emery High students were awarded the Academic All-State Award for the 2011 fall sports season, left to right: Jaecee Bird (Rick and Evelyn Bird), Tiffany Funk (Greg and Jessica Funk) and Caleb Woolsey (Darren and Jeanette Woolsey) cross country, Brandon Oliver (Greg and Tina Oliver) golf, Olivia Burton (Frank and Priscilla Burton) and Rosalyn Wright (Lance and Evelyn Wright) tennis, and Jolynn Jennings (Jim and Deana Jennings) volleyball.

For more than 25 years the Utah High School Activities Association has presented the Academic All-State Award to recognize those students who have excelled in the classroom as well as in athletic competition. Individuals are selected for this award on the basis of their athletic ability and academic proficiency. With more than 85,000 students participating in high school activities, this award is the most prestigious honor the UHSAA presents to senior students.
