Emery baseball drops two wins one still in fight for region title
The Emery High baseball team lost in region play to Grand High School last week to throw the region 15 title back into play for several teams as the Spartans lost for the second time of the season to Grand. Emery, San Juan and Richfield each have two region losses on the season as region play enters its last week.
Emery plays South Sevier this Tuesday and San Juan this Thursday to conclude region 15 action. Two wins and Emery should still be OK. South Sevier is on the road but San Juan is at home.
Emery lost to Grand 8-7 as both teams each committed six errors. Emery had seven base hits to only five for Grand but the errors really hurt. Grand scored five runs in the second inning, two runs in the fourth inning and their final run in the sixth inning.
