Notice to the Citizens of Emery County
Vacancies on Several Commission 
Appointed Boards

	Any interested, registered voter who lives in Emery County and is
interested in serving on any of the following boards may obtain a form
at the Clerk/Auditor's office during regular business hours.   The
volunteer form can also be accessed on line at www.emerycounty.com and
will need to be returned to the Clerk/Auditor's office, P.O. Box 907,
Castle Dale, Utah 84513 by January 2, 2013 at the close of business. 
NOTE: Some boards have stipulations that you must reside in their
areas of representation.

Emery County Care and Rehabilitation Board of Directors
Number of vacancies: 3 vacancies (representing Huntington
/Cleveland/Elmo (2 positions) and Green River area (1 position) - 4
year term

	The Emery County Care and Rehabilitation Board of Directors consists
of 9 members. This board identifies needs, set goals and objectives,
and establishes policies in coordination with the Care Center
Administrator and the Emery County Commission.

Emery County Public Lands Council 
Number of vacancies: 6 vacancies ( 4 year term)

	This board reviews and makes recommendation to the Emery County Board
of Commissioners on items of interest regarding public lands.  Members
of this council may have specific assignments, as assigned by the
Chairman, to represent local interests in such areas as water
resources, domestic livestock, recreation, tourism, economic
development, hunting and fishing,
wildlife, mineral extraction, etc.

Emery County Travel Bureau 
Number of vacancies: 2 vacancies (4 year term)

	This board makes recommendations to the Emery County Board of
Commissions on how to administer the transient room tax and promote
tourism in Emery County within the guidelines provided by the
legislature.

	A majority of the directors shall be current employees of entities in
the county that are subject  to the taxes imposed by law.

Emery County Weed and Mosquito Board 
Number of vacancies: 2 vacancies (4 year term)

	This board makes recommendations to the Emery County Board of
Commissioners for overall weed control policy and compliance with the
Utah Noxious Weed Act.

Castle Valley Special Service District 
Number of vacancies: 2 county appointed at-large positions.  Must live
within city limits. 

(4 year term)

	This district's responsibilities include "to provide water, sewerage,
drainage and transportation(roads) within city/town boundaries."

Emery County Special Service District #1 
Number of vacancies: 2 vacancies (4 year term) 

	This district's responsibilities include "to provide water, sewerage,
drainage and transportation roads outside city/town boundaries (in the
county). It also works with energy producers on road improvement
projects.
