Dog License Deadline

Cleveland residents are required to license their dogs by Feb. 28. All dogs must have proof of current rabies shots to be licensed. Persons failing to do so are subject to a $15 fine in addition to regular fees. This late fee will be enforced as of March 1.

Orangeville Calendars

Orangeville City Calendars are now available. There is also an insert for those who purchased the calendar before Jan. 15. It is a small correction for the month of August. You can pick up the insert at the city hall.

Huntington Dog Licenses

Huntington 2002 dog licenses are now due. Purchase licenses at city hall You will need proof of your pet's current rabies vaccination. Call 687-2436 for more information.

American Legion Contest

The American Legion Oratorical Contest will be held in February in Salt Lake City. The contest begins at the local level and is for 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. Ask your school counselor or contact a member of your local American Legion Post or call Naomi Fletcher at 801-567-1102. Many scholarships are given and prizes at local level also.

MS Volunteers Needed

Locals Exhibit Art

Gallery East at the College of Eastern Utah presents local renowned artists, Thomas Elmo Williams and David Richey Johnsen, featuring works of local interest and places, which will run through Jan. 31. Chamber Awards

The Emery County Chamber of Commerce Awards and Installation Banquet will be held at the Museum of the San Rafael on Feb. 2, at 6:30 p.m. Call for your reservations to honor local outstanding business people, 381-2547. Upcoming Reunion

Lincoln Day Dinner

The Lincoln Day Dinner hosted by the Republican party of Emery County will be held on Feb. 9, at 6 p.m. at the Ferron Senior Citizen Center. LDS Adult Activity

A dinner and program at the Castle Dale Stake Center will be held on Feb. 9, at 6:30 p.m. Guest speaker is Mamie Hjorth, who will do a presentation on Emma Smith. There will be an affordable charge for the dinner.

Ten caring Utah families are needed to host high school students from many foreign countries for the 2002-03 school year. Students are prescreened, speak English, and are excited about visiting the USA and teaching about their country. They have medical insurance and own spending money. Learn about Brain

Airing on KUED channel 7, on Tues. evenings at 8 p.m. on Jan. 22-Feb.12, will be "The Secret Life of the Brain." Stimulate your own brain with these informative and educational programs.

New Exhibit Coming

The Museum of the San Rafael will be featuring a new Cultural Olympiad exhibit "Artists of the American West," from Feb. 7 - March 9. An opening reception will be on Feb. 7, starting at 6 p.m. with a program at 7 p.m. Plan to bring your family to this exhibition organized and toured by ExhibitsUSA.

Valentine's Day Carnival

Huntington Elementary PTA Carnival will be on Feb. 14, from 5-8 p.m. at the elementary gym with food, games and fun. Craft sale, bake sale, cake walk, ringtoss, football throw, and much more.

EMT Basic Class

Sign up now for classes starting on March 4, ending on May 2. Learn how to help when someone is sick or injured. You must register by Feb. 5. Traveling South?

Dog Licenses Due

Orangeville dog licenses are due by Feb. 28. A rabies clinic will be held at the city fire station Feb. 23 from 9 a.m.-Noon. Citations will be issued on March 1, with additional fees assessed for late licensing.

Emery High Rodeo

AA and Narcotics Anonymous

Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous meetings now held in Emery County at the Four Corners building, 45 East 100 South, Castle Dale. Narcotics Anonymous is on Mondays at 7:30 p.m. and Alcoholics Anonymous is Tuesdays at 8 p.m. Everyone welcome. For more information call 381-2432 or 687-9416.

Castle Dale LDS Stake

Castle Dale 1st and 2nd Wards meet at 11 a.m. and 9 a.m., respectively, in the Stake Center on Main Street. Orangeville 1st and 2nd Wards also meet at 11 a.m. and 9 am, respectively, on Main Street. Orangeville 3rd and Castle Dale 3rd Wards meet in the building on 8th North in Castle Dale, at 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., respectively. In all cases, Sacrament Meeting is first, followed by Primary, Youth and Adult classes.

Independent Baptist

The Castle Dale Independent Baptist Church holds services each Sunday morning at 10 a.m. for Sunday School and at 11 a.m. for Worship Service. There is a Bible study each Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. All services are held at the Castle Dale Senior Citizens Center. Everyone invited. Desert Edge Christian Chapel

Emery Ward Church schedule: Sacrament meeting 10 a.m. Sunday School and Primary, 11:15 a.m. Priesthood meeting, Relief Society, Young Women's and Young Mens meetings 12:15 p.m.

Huntington First Baptist

Catholic Mass

Mission San Rafael, south of Huntington, holds Mass on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month at 1:30 p.m.; St. Michael the Archangel in Green River is Saturdays at 6 p.m.; and the Notre Dame de Lourdes in Price, is each Sunday at 9 and 11 a.m. and also on Saturday evenings at 5 p.m.

Huntington 1st Ward

Sacrament Meeting at 11 a.m. followed by Sunday School at 12:15 a.m.. Young Men & Young Women, Relief Society and Priesthood at 1:10 p.m. Ward Building located at 115 S. 400 E. in Huntington.

Elmo Ward

199 E. Main. Sunday - 9 a.m. - Priesthood/Relief Society/Young Women/Primary. 10 a.m. - Sunday School. 10:50 a.m. - Sacrament Meeting. Wed., - Young Women/Young Men - 7 p.m. Turnquist Sunday Sacrament Meeting - 1 p.m. Everyone Welcome.

First Baptist Church of Emery County

The First Baptist Church of Emery County is located in Ferron, just West of the Grub Box. Sunday Services include Sunday School at 10 a.m., Worship Service at 11 a.m., and Evening Worship at 6 p.m. Each Wednesday is Prayer Meeting at 7 p.m. (except the first Wed. of the month when services are held at the Emery County Care Center at 6:30 p.m.).
