Public Hearing
Castle Valley Special Service District
Proposed Outside-District Water Rate Increase

Castle Valley Special Service District is considering a rate increase
for the use of culinary water by outside-district users. The current
monthly "overage" rate for use of water over the base amount of 10,000
gallons is $1.40 per 1000 gallons. Residents inside the District pay
certain rates to cover the costs associated with the treatment and
transmission of culinary water, and have been subsidizing costs
associated with outside-district use. The District proposes to raise
the outside-district monthly overage rate to $1.90, in order to better
match actual costs associated with outside-district water use. Public
comment will be heard at the regularly-scheduled District Control
Board meeting on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 7:00 p.m., at the
Castle Valley Special Service District office located at 86 South, 100
East, Castle Dale, Utah.
Published in the Emery County Progress September 10 and 17, 2013.
