Emery hosts Delta and Juan Diego; Carbon

The Emery High Spartans hosted North Summit at a meet on Dec. 6. The combined teams scored 168 to narrowly edge North Summit by three points. The girls came up short scoring 73 points. The boys finished in first with 95 points.

In the girls 200 yard medley relay, Valerie Chynoweth, Madi Allinson, Laryssa Guymon and Jacie Huntington finished in second with a time of 2:21.30. Krista Wright, Tarryn Parkins, Kaitlyn Gilson and Erin Oliverson finished third with a time of 2:43.17.

In the boys 200 yard medley relay, Devin Wilson, Kelvin Childs, McKade Hansen and Spencer Fauver finished first with a time of 2:01.92.

In the girls 200 yard freestyle, Krista Wright finished second with a time of 2:45.21.

In the boys 200 yard freestyle, Alex Stilson finished second with a time of 2:35.39. Zac Fauver finished third with a time of 2:37.82.

In the girls 200 yard individual medley, Tarryn Parkins finished in fourth with a time of 3:27.99.

In the boys 200 yard individual medley, Kayden Parkins finished second with a time of 2:42.60. Levi Jensen finished third with a time of 2:42.82.

In the girls 50 yard freestyle, Jacie Huntington finished second with a time of 33.32.

In the girls 100 yard butterfly, Laryssa Guymon finished first with a time of 1:08.86.

In the boys 100 yard butterfly, McKade Hansen finished first with a time of 1:12.77.

In the girls 100 yard freestyle, Jacie Huntington finished with a time of 1:17.11.

In the boys 100 yard freestyle, Spencer Fauver finished first with a time of 27.26. Justan Potter finished second with a time of 58.62. Levi Jensen finished third with a time of 1:03.42.

In the girls 500 yard freestyle, Krista Wright finished first with a time of 7:22.07.

In the boys 500 yard freestyle, Kayden Parkins finished with a time of 6:46.92.

In the girls 200 yard freestyle relay, Valerie Chynoweth, Tarryn Parkins, Erin Oliverson and Jacie Huntington finished second with a time of 2:21.03.

In the boys 200 yard freestyle, McKade Hansen, Levi Jensen, Kayden Parkins and Justan Potter finished first with a time of 1:49.04. Zac Fauver, Beau Ivie, Jaxon Winn, Nate Gilbert finished third with a time of 2:03.07

In the girls 100 yard backstroke, Madi Allinson finished first with a time of 1:14.03. Valerie Chynoweth finished third with a time of 1:34.10.

In the boys backstroke, Devin Wilson finished second with a time of 1:15.61.

In the girls 100 yard breastroke, Laryssa Guymon finished first with a time of 1:17.47.

In the boys 100 yard breaststroke, Kelvin Childs finished first with a time of 1:16.98.

In the girls 400 yard freestyle relay, Madi Allinson, Jamie Gilbert, Krista Wright and Laryssa Guymon finished first with a time of 4:50.41.

In the boys 400 yard freestyle relay, Justan Potter, Levi Jensen, Devin Wilson and Spencer Fauver finished first with a time of 4:07.06. Kayden Parkins, Ethan Lemon, Nate Gilbert and Zac Fauver finished third with a time of 4:42.31.

In what was basically a duel swim meet between the Emery High Spartans and the Carbon Dinos, the Emery Aquatic center hosted the two teams plus a couple of swimmers from Payson High and Wasatch Academy on December 18. The Emery boys scored 99 points to Carbon's 62 points with Payson scoring 6 points. The Carbon girls scored 91 points to Emery's 54 points, Payson's 12 points and Wasatch Academy's 10 points. Emery and Carbon tied for the overall title with 153 points each.

Laryssa Guymon led the Emery girls with a first place finish in the 100 yard butterfly and in the 100 yard breaststroke. Guymon was a member of the 200 yard medley relay team that finished first and also a member of the 200 yard freestyle relay team that finished second.

Brittany Wilson led the Carbon girls with a pair of first place finishes. Wilson won 200 yard freestyle race and also the 100 yard freestyle race. She was a member of the winning 200 yard freestyle relay team that took first and the 400 yard relay team that also took first.

Kayden Parkins paced the Emery boys' team with a pair of first place finishes. Parkins finished first in the 200 yard freestyle and also in the 500 yard freestyle race. Parkins was a member of the 400 yard freestyle relay that placed first and 200 yard freestyle relay team that finished second.

Joel Garff and Joseph Keller each won two events for the Carbon boys' team. Garff won the 100 yard freestyle race and the 100 yard breaststroke race. Keller won the 200 yard Individual medley race and the 100 yard backstroke race. Both swimmers were a member of the winning 200 yard freestyle relay team and also a member of the 400 yard freestyle relay team that finished second.

Other individual winners from the two schools were Justan Potter of Emery in the boy's 50 yard freestyle, McKade Hansen of Emery in the 100 yard butterfly, and Veronica Ibanez of Carbon in the 500 yard freestyle.

The Emery High relay team of Madi Allinson, Kaitlyn Saling, Guymon and Chyanne Carter won the 200 yard medley relay race. The Emery High relay team of Devin Wilson, Kelvin Childs, McKade Hansen and Spencer Fauver won the 200 yard relay team for boys.

The Emery boys' team consisting of Potter, Levi Jensen, Parkins and Fauver won the 400 yard freestyle race.
