The Green River Pirates finished ninth and the Lady Pirates finished twelfth in the 1-A division out of nineteen teams at the just completed Utah State Track Championship held at BYU. Both of the teams from Panguitch High School finished in first place and the school easily won the overall team championship.

Tyrell Shumway was the lone state champion for the Pirates as Shumway won the javelin event by around eight feet with a throw of 163 feet 6.25 inches. Shumway was a member of the 4x100 relay team that finished in fourth place. That team consisted of Kyle Johnson, Jon Mendez and Joe Serafin.

Corbin Mecham finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 41 feet 10.25 inches and Serafin finished in fifth place in the 100 meters with a time of 11.79.

The Lady Pirates had two double placers. Taylor Johnson finished second in long jump with a jump of 15 feet 7 inches and fourth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.3 seconds.

Cassidee Moore also placed twice as she finished sixth in both the 800 meters and the 1600 meters. Her time in the 800 meters was 2:36.03 and in the 1600 was 6:01.61.
