The Lady Pirates met the Jaguars of Navajo Mountain on Jan. 23 in Green River. This game was part of the week of Homecoming activities. Homecoming theme was, "Treasure your time as a Pirate."

The Lady Pirates executed very well and came away with a 60-46 victory over the Jags. The Pirates were led by the defensive play of Heidi Vetere who had several blocked shots and added 19 points on the offensive side of the basket. Ciji Vetere added 10 points, Adriana Cordova, 12, Aubree Dinkins, 4, Charle Vetere, 4, Amber Watterson, 2, McKenzie Spadafora, 3, and Whitney Bigelow, 6.

The Pirates are a young team and play with only one junior, four sophomores and four freshmen. If this group of girls stay together, they should be unstoppable when they are seniors. The Pirates are coached by Greg Parsons and assistant coach is Stan Parsons. Team managers are Alyssa Martyn and Brittany Hunsburger.
