I have a Diva in my life. Dee-va. In Webster's dictionary a diva is a prima donna. That is it. No other explanation needed. I agree. Now divas come in all sizes and shapes. They can be a male or a female. Animal or human .I have a Diva cat. I have a diva human. My diva human drives me crazy. In talking to some of my friends I have noted that everyone has a diva in their life. You just have to think about it awhile.
As I said, my diva drives me crazy. Why? because he/she thinks she is the only person on the face of the earth. He or she lives in his own little universe and absolutely cannot see that anyone else has their universe too. The world revolves around them and they are not open to anyone elses. They look at you when you talk but they don't hear a thing. They expect everybody to kowtow to them. Their way is the only way things can be done. You work your life around theirs. The worst part about a diva is that you like them! I really think my diva is cool. I really want him or her in my life, I just have to find a way to accept who they are. You can't change them. Heaven knows I have tried. Sometimes I just want to tap my diva on the shoulder and say,"Hello, I live on this earth too. Remember me? I have feelings too. Is it possible to forget about you for a few minutes and think about me ? Could you just this once think about doing it my way? " Well, I don't because I have tried that and it just doesn't work.
Another thing about a diva is that everyone knows who they are. They stand out like sore thumbs. You start talking about your diva to one of your friends and they know who they are before you ever give them the name! I think it is hilarious. I just have to shake my head and smile. I give up. I just have to learn to live with my diva on an amicable basis.
In thinking about this I guess I can be a diva sometimes myself. It must be hard sometimes for my friends too. I'll bet it's hard for you and your diva. All in all there is a place for them. Wish me luck.Well, that is my world. Until next time remember, "Life doesn't always hand us things on a silver platter. Sometimes we have to work for them."
