Storyteller at Historical Meeting

The Emery County Historical Society general meeting is scheduled for Feb. 28, at 7 p.m. at the Museum of the San Rafael. Come early and enjoy the current exhibit. Then settle in to enjoy the guest speaker, Ron Taylor, an artist, photographer, and storyteller of Castle Dale, along with other entertainment for this historic installation of new officers meeting. Campdale DUP

The Campdale Daughters of the Utah Pioneers will meet March 11, 1 p.m., at the Castle Dale Senior Citizen's Center.

King Lear at CEU

Don't miss the classic production of Shakespeare's King Lear, directed by Todd Olsen that will run through Feb. 27 (excluding Sunday) at the Geary Theatre at 7:30 p.m.

Millsite Golf Course

Volunteers Needed

Turnquist Retreat in Elmo is looking for volunteers to entertain elderly residents with singing, dancing, playing instruments, visiting, and playing games. You will enjoy the company of the folks at Turnquist. Call 435-653-2555 and ask for Tonya.

Look for Two New Books

The Emery County Domestic Violence Coalition is promoting awareness and education by donating two new books to help with this problem in our community. Check out these books at your own local library. For more information call Kathy Anderson at 381-4743. There is help in Awareness! Be informed; be alert.

College Ward Reunion

Come and renew old friendships at the Price College Wards Reunion on March 2 and 3. RSVP to 435-637-0730 or 637-0611. All events will be held at the Price North Stake Center. March 2 is alumni dinner and reception at 5:30 p.m. and a fireside afterward for current students also. March 3, 11 a.m. stake conference.

Chamber Luncheon

The Emery County Chamber of Commerce monthly business luncheon meeting will be held on Feb. 27, at Noon at the Castle Dale Senior Citizen Center. Stay on top by hearing the presentation on building tourism and creating partners, featuring Castle Country Travel Region speaker Kathy Hanna-Smith. RSVP by calling 381-2547.

Daffodil Days

Orders for bunches of Daffodils are now being taken by the American Cancer Society. For a small fee you can brighten someone's day with the flower of hope. Order by March 1. Deliveries March 11-15. To order, call Cathy Sitterud (381-5647).

RDT Shake Your Booty

On March 2, the Repertory Dance Theatre will hold an open house to kick off the spring session with "Best Place to Shake Your Booty" to try all of the schools classes starting at 8 a.m. featuring Prime Movement, Pilates, Modern Technique, African-Based, Hip-Hop Jazz, Ballroom, and Flamenco. Dog License Deadline

Cleveland residents are required to license their dogs by Feb. 28. All dogs must have proof of current rabies shots to be licensed. Persons failing to do so are subject to a $15 fine in addition to regular fees. This late fee will be enforced as of March 1.

Huntington Dog Licenses

Huntington 2002 dog licenses are now due; deadline March 1. Proof of current rabies vaccination must be presented before license can be issued.

Orangeville dog licenses are due by Feb. 28. Citations will be issued on March 1, with additional fees assessed for late licensing.

Neighborhood Crime Watch Meeting

On March 6, at 6 p.m. there will be a meeting at the Huntington Sub-Station, next to Hometown Market. Programs, Youth Crime Watch America, and What's Happening in the Community. Ceramic Art at CEU

Multicultural Performance

Multicultural Services of Utah will present a one night, ninety minute performance on March 6, at 7 p.m. at the Emery High Auditorium. Tickets are affordable for individuals and families. Young Women's Career Conference

Bone Density Screening

Give a Helping Hand

Cleveland is holding a dinner and auction for long time residents Lester and Shawna Minchey on March 23. Items for the auction can be dropped off at the Cleveland Elementary school during school hours. AA and Narcotics Anonymous

Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous meetings now held in Emery County at the Four Corners building, 45 East 100 South, Castle Dale. Narcotics Anonymous is on Mondays at 7:30 p.m. and Alcoholics Anonymous is Tuesdays at 8 p.m. Everyone welcome. For more information call 381-2432 or 687-9416.

World of the Wild

Utah's Hogel Zoo's call for the "wild" is going out once again to all Utah artists with a 9th Annual Art Show taking place now until April 14. Catch this "World of the Wild" exhibit and see your favorite animals at the same time.

Veterans, Widows, Dependents

A field service officer of the Veterans of Foreign Wars will be in Price at Workforce Service Center from 9-10:30 a.m. on Feb. 27. This service is free to all veterans. Describe Your Town

Mayors want to know what young people think about their communities. 4th-7th graders can submit their views in the "Why I Like My Community" essay contest through their teacher at school or by calling 1-800-852-8528. Deadline is March 1.
