A benefit for the Swasey and Merrell families will be held at the Emery High School Little Theater on April 23 and 24. The performance will be the complete works of William Shakespeare in two hours. The cost for admittance will be donated to the families. Performance will begin at 7 p.m.
Emery County Community Theatre will present Annie on April 29-30 and May 1 and 3 in the Emery High School auditorium beginning at 7 p.m. each night.
"Why the Cowboy Sings" will be presented at the Emery County Historical Society meeting to be held at the Museum of the San Rafael on April 22 at 7 p.m. Hal Cannon, folklorist, will be the presenter. He is the founding director of the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering held each year in Elko, Nev. This is a program of the Utah Humanities Council. This program is a reschedule of the February meeting which was cancelled due to weather.
The San Rafael Swell Mountain Bike Festival, sponsored by the MECCA bike club and Emery County Recreation, will be held May 14-16. Cleveland Burn Window Date Change

The Castle Country Spring Festival Arts and Crafts Fair will be held on April 23 and 24. The 2004 Vintage Photo Contest is out to spur interest in old photos with cash and prizes. Finalists will be judged on aesthetic value and the interest of the stories behind the photos. CASA Volunteers Needed
Each year hundreds of children in Emery and Carbon counties become wards of the juvenile court system due to child abuse, neglect or abandonment. The child welfare system can only devote so much time and attention to each individual case and , consequently, to each individual child. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Volunteers are ordinary men and women who find it in their hearts and their schedules to help these abused and neglected children. Biking by Choice is sponsoring a bicycle ride through Utah to remind Utahns about the Utah donor registry.
