Huntington Celebrates with Annual Event

Fireworks top off the annual celebration in Huntington.

The annual Heritage Days celebration was held over the weekend in Huntington. On Friday night a Heritage Idol contest was held with many talented people performing their numbers before the judges. Winners were given certificates and cash awards. An ice cream social and dessert contest was held as part of the festivities. Al Shakespaere was the master of ceremonies for the idol contest and also entertained during dessert.

The annual parade was on July 3 with the Emery High Marching Band, numerous floats and youth groups traveling the parade route.

The Veterans were honored as Grand Marshals and rode at the beginning of the parade. A patriotic program was also held in the park on Saturday as well as booths, food and entertainment. A basketball tournament was held and the Huntington Glee Club topped off the celebration with their patriotic performance on July 4.
