The vehicle was totaled in the accident which killed two family members.

A Denver family headed east on I-70 just one mile south of Green River was involved in a one-car rollover. The vehicle they were riding in apparently drifted off the road to the left and the driver then overcorrected back onto the road and rolled the vehicle several times. Four occupants of the vehicle were ejected. Dying in the accident was Juan De La Rosa, 67, and Julio De La Torre, 39.

The driver of the vehicle, a 32 year old woman may have fallen asleep at the wheel according to investigators. Also in the vehicle were the two sons of the woman, ages 5 and 11. An 18 year old nephew was also in the vehicle. The 11 year old boy, in critical condition, was flown by helicopter to St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction.

The other victims were treated at the Green River Medical Center and taken to the hospital in Grand Junction. Those losing their lives were reported to be the father and the husband of the driver of the vehicle.
