County teams mix it up in football action.

San Rafael and Canyon View Jr High's football seasons are winding down and both have had a successful season. The Bulldogs are 4-1 and should be the league champions this season. Canyon View is 1-3 and has two home games left.

San Rafael has defeated Mont Harmon twice, Canyon View once and split with Helper. The Bulldogs are coached by Head Coach Yory Allred and assisted by Russ Wilson.

Dempsey Jeffs is the Bulldog quarterback with Kyle Johansen, Ryne Jones and Jordon Gee at running back. Outstanding players on defense are Jesse McArthur and Jordan Phelps. Coach Allred had this to say about his winning team, "These kids have really been fun to be around as they have played really hard. This is a pretty good bunch of kids.. They've done really well."

Canyon View is coached by Head Coach Doug Mecham and assisted by Chris Justice and Kelly Mortenson. The Cougars defeated Helper 39-0 and lost to each of the other schools by two points. San Rafael comes to Canyon View this Wednesday at 2 p.m. Mont Harmon will close out the season next week.

Blake Mortenson is the quarterback of the Cougars and Wade Bohn, Skyler Jensen and Mike Jones are the running backs. Nick Oviatt is a good receiver. Outstanding lineman on both offense and defense are Bobby Erickson, Zak Clement, Justin Miller and Cyal Christmas. Coach Mecham had this to say, "I am really proud of the boys, they haven't quit this season. We have really good ninth grade leadership and the kids work really hard."
