Winter Cheer Camp
The Spartan cheerleaders are hosting a winter cheer camp. The camp will be held Nov. 22-23, and 29-30 at the Cottonwood Elementary. The participants will perform at the first Emery Spartan girls basketball game during halftime on Nov. 23 and also the boys basketball game on Nov. 30. Winter Arts Festival
The newly formed Emery County Arts Council is sponsoring a Winter Arts Festival on Friday, Dec. 10 from 7-9 p.m. This kickoff event for the Arts Council will be an evening of entertainment, food and fun and will be held under the lights at the Castle Dale City Park and indoors at the Museum of the San Rafael.
BYU Dance Company
Brigham Young University Ball Room Dance Company will present a performance at San Rafael Junior High School on Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free and is sponsored by Emery County Recreation District and Ferron Utah Stake.
Huntington Turkey Trot
Huntington City's 5th annual Turkey Trot, children's races and 5K run will be held Thanksgiving morning at 8 a.m., Nov. 25. There is a small entry fee and T-shirts will be for sale. For more information contact Mark or Cheryl at 687-2403.
Gallery East Show
Gallery East's faculty show will be held Nov. 10-Dec. 10, from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. in the gallery at College of Eastern Utah. Faculty members showing are Blaine Atwood, Cliff Bergera, Brent Haddock, Anthony Lott, Kelly Pugh and Nathan Wilson.
The Price Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management, 125 North 600 West, will sell Christmas tree permits for personal use Nov. 22-Dec. 23, from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. The tag cost is $5 per tree, with only one permit allowed per household.
DROPS will be held Nov. 23 at the Fairgrounds at 500 East and 100 South, Castle Dale. Sign-ups begin at 11 a.m. You must be present to pick up a box. First come, first served. Do not block private driveways.
The Emery County Historical Society monthly meeting will be held Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. at the Museum of the San Rafael. Max Finley, formerly of Morhland and author of Wildflowers of Castle Valley, will be the guest speaker. As a tribute to Veterans, he will speak about World War II. All veterans and their families are welcome to attend and will be honored. Morhland history will also be discussed. Come early for copies of the book.

Ferron Reads is still happening. Help Ferron meet the challenge of reading 1 million pages before Nov. 24. Currently the total is 927, 630. All Ferron residents are encouraged to record the number of pages they read at work, school or at ahome and turn it in to Ferron City Hall, Ferron Library or Ferron Elementary. A weekly update will be posted on the marquee at Ferron Elementary.

On Sept. 15, Secretary Veneman designated 20 counties in Utah eligible for Farm Service Agency emergency loans due to production losses. These losses were a result of drought, insects, damaging wind and heat, that occurred Jan. 1 and continuing. Bread and Soup Night
CEUs Bread and Soup night will be held Nov. 22, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center. All proceeds go to the Carbon County Food Bank.

Veterans of Foreign Wars
A field service officer from the Veterans of Foreign Wars will be working out of the Price Workforce Service Center on Nov. 18 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. This is free service to assist veterans in understanding and applying for rightful VA benefits, preparing and documenting application for compensation, pension, hospitalization and other benefits.
Cleveland Fire Department Fundraiser
Cleveland Fire Department will be hosting a fund raising spaghetti dinner at Cleveland Town Hall on Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m. There will be entertainment and prizes. The cost is $5 per plate or $20 per family.
Genealogy and Family Heritage Jamboree

Ascension St. Matthew's Church
