Charly Vetere fights for a rebound.

The Lady Pirates were simply too much for East Carbon as Green River outscored their opponent 16-4 in the first quarter then continued the onslaught as they won easily 56-29. Green River then defeated a team from Grand High School 45-40 to see their record go to 4-1 as the young Pirates see good things happening in their future.

Against the Vikings, Green river outscored their opponent 21-9 in the second quarter and 13-2 in the third quarter before everyone got to play and score and East Carbon rallied for a 14-6 advantage in the last quarter.

The Pirates kept on winning last week with another victory, this time over Meridian High 56-26 as they never let their opponent into the game and controlled the tempo to their advantage all night long. The Green River defense was so good that only three players were able to score against them.

Green River led after the first quarter 12-6 and at halftime 27-12. The defense of Green River was good but not overaggressive, as Meridian shot no free throws in the game.
