New owners with fresh ideas

The Murray family includes Bill and Debbie, Shaydee, Whitney, Kaydree, David, not pictured, and Travis.

What's new about Video Spectrum? New owners that's what. Bill and Debbie Murray are now starring nightly at the Video Spectrum. They are stirring things up in the world of video. They have plans for a grand opening on Feb. 26 during regular hours. They will have refreshments throughout the day.

Debbie said, "Anyone who rents during the month of February will be entered into a drawing for a DVD/VCR combo. There will also be Salt City Candles and Mary Kay products in the drawing and free movies will round out the prizes. We would also like to welcome all former customers back to the store. If you have a late fee you haven't paid and an outstanding account, don't worry about it, we are wiping the slate clean and everyone will start with a zero balance to encourage you to stop back by and see what we have to offer. We are also going to offer scratch tickets to win free movies when you come in to rent a video.

Rowdy Ward looks over the video games at the Video Spectrum.

"We purchased the store from Mavoreen Anderson who operated it for 15 and a half years. We receive new releases every week and we have a good selection of DVDs, VHS and all types of video games. We have plenty of action and family type movies. We are planning on a special rental fee for family night movies. We also plan to do some rent one get one free promotions and giveaways during the year. We have expanded hours from 2-9 p.m. on Monday-Thursday and Friday-Saturday 2-9:30 p.m. We look forward to serving the community and appreciate their support. Come in and check us out," said Debbie.

The Murray family also includes Shaydee, Whitney, Kaydree, David and Travis. The boys will be helping out at the store and the young girls act as supervisors and preview the movies and can point out a good show to those searching for some entertainment.
