| Doug Ekker prepares to leave for Iraq. |
Doug Ekker will be leaving Green River to serve as a firefighter in Iraq. He will be working for a private company contracted by the United States government to fight fires on United States military bases.
Ekker has served seven years as a Green River Firefighter. He is also an Intermediate Emergency Medical Technician and has served with Green River Ambulance Services for the past five years. When I asked Doug why he wanted to do this, he said, "I want to be able to serve our troops, firefighting and EMS are what I know best."
Green River Ambulance Services would like to send our prayers and love with Doug while he is gone.
