Emery County Landfill

Business hours for the Emery County Landfill are Tues-Fri., 9 a.m.-5:15 p.m. and on Sat., 8 a.m to 4:15 p.m. Closed on Mondays and on July 4. For questions call 381-2719.

Huntington City

Huntington City secondary water schedule. There will be no watering from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There may be severe water shortage this year. It is a violation to allow water to run onto land owned by another person or onto city streets. Anyone wasting water will be subject to penalties.

Swimming Pool Hours

The Castle Dale Swimming Pool is open! Aquasize, Mon.-Fri. 8-9 p.m; Open Swim, Mon. and Wed., 4-7 p.m., and Sat., Noon-7 p.m.; Monday Family Night 7-9 p.m. Lap Swim, Mon-Fri., 6-7:30 p.m. For more information call the pool at 381-5298.

Benefit Planned

A benefit for Billee Jones Kessler will be held on May 4, at the Huntington Senior Center with dinner between 5-7 p.m. (affordable individual and family meal) followed by an auction and raffle. Donations for the auction are needed. Monitary donations can be made at Wells Fargo in Castle Dale on Billee's behalf. Music provided by Encore Music and Karaoke. Bowling Fundraiser

Huntington Pee-Wee Baseball

Huntington Pee-Wee baseball team will hold their first practice on May 7 at 6 p.m., at the Huntington Complex.

Millsite Ladies Golf League

Starting May 7 at 6 p.m. at the Millsite Restaurant, will be a meeting and dinner. Please call for reservations; Betty (384-3057), Marie (381-2225), or Corey (381-5571).

Infant/Children Immunization Day

There will be a Infant/Children Immunization Day on May 13 at the Public Health Office, 25 West Main Street, Castle Dale from 8:30-11:30 and 1:30- 4:30. We accommodate Medicaid, CHIP, and will bill PEHP with an appropriate card shown at time of visit. There will be a fee and cap per client per visit if your insurance doesn't pay for immunizations. If your medical insurance covers immunizations you must pay full price or be referred to primary care provider.

Business Conference

Senator Bob Bennett and the Center for Rural Life at Southern Utah University will host the first annual Rural Utah Business Technology Conference at the Hunter Conference Center on the SUU campus in Cedar City on May 28 and 29. Affordable conference fee includes a Tues. evening reception, breakfast and lunch on Wed., and all breakout sessions.

Democratic Convention/Dinner

The Emery County Democrats will hold their convention and dinner on May 3, at 6:30 p.m. at the Castle Dale Senior Center (90 North 200 East) All interested people are welcome to attend. Tickets available at the door.

Bookcliff Muzzleloaders

Bookcliff Muzzleloaders will hold their annual spring shoot on May 3,4,and 5 at the Buckhorn Draw. Shooting starts Sat. morning at 9 a.m.There will be silhouettes and paper targets, mountain man run, candy cannon and tomahawk throw. Lifeguarding Class

The Castle Dale City Swimming Pool Lifeguarding Class will be May 4, 11, 18, and 25, from 9-5 each day. Requirements for class: Dive for brick, Swim 500 yards, freestyle and breast stroke. Fee involved. Contact: Sarah (749-0647), LaMont (749-0784), or the pool (381-5298).

Booster Car Seats Available

Booster Car Seats for children 4-8 years old and 40-80 pounds are available by calling Terry Bennett at the Southeastern Utah District Health Department at 381-2252. Know if your car has lap/shoulder belts in the back seat, head rests or high back seat. Call Now!

Emery Boys Baseball

Playoff action begins with the Emery team in St. George at Snow Canyon on Friday at 4 p.m.

Camp Dale

Camp Dale DUP Meeting will be May 13 at 1 p.m. in the Castle Dale Senior Citizen Center.

Swim Lessons

Registration for Swim Lessons begins May 13-31. Register during pool hours or each day between 8-11 a.m. Payment is requested at time of registration. Call Sarah at the pool for cost and times, 381-5298.

Veterans, Widows and Dependents

A officer from Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Department Service Office will be here to assist you in understanding and applying for rightful VA benefits, preparing and documenting application for compensation, pension, hospitalization and other benefits. This is free and veterans need not to be members of VFW. This will be held on May 22, at the Price Workforce Service Center from 9-10:30 a.m.

Orangeville Day

Orangeville Day, "Celebrate America", will be held on June 15. Plan now to be part of the parade, entertainment, or help with the many activities for all ages. Call Orangeville City Hall for more details, 748-2651.

Miss Heritage Days

Attention Huntington girls ages 10-24. It's time to sign up for the Huntington Heritage Days Scholarship Pageant on June 6. Deadline for application is May 1. Pick up your packet now at Huntington City Hall. Questions? Call Kimalee Allred (687-2979) or Loretta Bagley (687-9246).

Miss Emery County

Applications being taken for the Miss Emery County Scholarship Pageant. Deadline for signing up is May 1. Call Randy Johnson today (381-5505). The pageant will be July 20.

Graduation Night Party/Dance

May 23 is the night to celebrate graduation in the old gym at Emery High School. Following graduation, music by "Beat of Time" will play for a dance. Free pizza, drinks, snacks, and door prizes for all, sponsored by the Peer Helper Club. No alcohol or drugs will be allowed.
