Emery County Landfill

Business hours for the Emery County Landfill are Tues-Fri., 9 a.m.-5:15 p.m. and on Sat., 8 a.m to 4:15 p.m. Closed on Mondays and on July 4. For questions call 381-2719.

Huntington City

Huntington City secondary water schedule. There will be no watering from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There may be a severe water shortage this year. It is a violation to allow water to run onto land owned by another person or onto city streets. Anyone wasting water will be subject to penalties.

Swimming Pool Hours

The Castle Dale Swimming Pool is open! Aquasize, Mon.-Fri. 8-9 p.m; Open Swim, Mon. and Wed., 4-7 p.m., and Sat., Noon-7 p.m.; Monday Family Night 7-9 p.m. Lap Swim, Mon-Fri., 6-7:30 p.m. For more information call the pool at 381-5298.

Softball Signups

Mens and Womens softball signups are taking place. Call the Emery County Recreation District, 381-2108, before May 15.

Infant/Children Immunization Day

There will be a Infant/Children Immunization Day on May 13 at the Public Health Office, 25 West Main Street, Castle Dale from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:30- 4:30 p.m. We accommodate Medicaid, CHIP, and will bill PEHP with an appropriate card shown at time of visit. There will be a fee and cap per client per visit if your insurance doesn't pay for immunizations. If your medical insurance covers immunizations you must pay full price or be referred to primary care provider.

SUU hosts Business Conference

Senator Bob Bennett and the Center for Rural Life at Southern Utah University will host the first annual Rural Utah Business Technology Conference at the Hunter Conference Center on the SUU campus in Cedar City on May 28 and 29. Health Career Camp

Attention high school students looking for health care careers! Utah AHEC is presenting a 3-day camp at SUU on June 10-12. An affordable three days of on-campus housing, meals, looking at career options, profession skills, science experiments, and social activities, interacting with local health care providers and college students is available by registering now. Camp Dale DUP Meeting will be May 13 at 1 p.m. in the Castle Dale Senior Citizen Center.

Emery County Track Club

Emery County Track Club is sponsoring a youth track meet at the Emery High School Track on May 17. Registration will be from 4:30 to 5:00 p.m. and the meet will start thereafter. Everybody from 9th grade and down is invited. For more information call Todd at 748-5304.

Swim Lessons

Registration for Swim Lessons begins May 13-31. Register during pool hours or each day between 8-11 a.m. Payment is requested at time of registration. Call Sarah at the pool for cost and times, 381-5298.

Notice For Veterans, Widows and Dependents

A officer from Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Department Service Office will be here to assist you in understanding and applying for rightful VA benefits, preparing and documenting application for compensation, pension, hospitalization and other benefits. This is free and veterans need not to be members of VFW. This will be held on May 22, at the Price Workforce Service Center from 9-10:30 a.m.

Graduation Night Party/Dance

May 23 is the night to celebrate graduation in the old gym at Emery High School. Following graduation, music by "Beat of Time" will play for a dance. Free pizza, drinks, snacks, and door prizes for all, sponsored by the Peer Helper Club. No alcohol or drugs will be allowed. Come prepared to have a fun and safe night.

Jr. Miss and Miss Orangeville

The annual Jr. Miss and Miss Orangeville pageant will be held on May 28 this year at the High School auditorium. All Orangeville Junior High and High School girls interested please pick up an application at the Orangeville City Hall or Contact Elda at 748-2343.

Fund Raiser for Rick Dotson

An auction and dinner will be held on June 8 at the Cleveland Elementary, for the benefit of Rick Dotson. Who has been diagnosed with Malignant Melanoma Skin Cancer. There will entertainment by the Val Jensen band. Cash donations will be accepted at Zions bank. Orangeville Day
