A dead body was found in Green River near the old uranium mines. The body was that of a Grand Junction man, Ronald Shuew, 50. His sister had reported him missing to the Grand Junction police department and he was listed as missing since Oct. 10. He had taken off in September saying he was going camping near Green River or Hanksville. He was found by hikers. He had apparently lit a charcoal barbeque and placed it in the trunk of the car and reclined in the vehicle in an apparent suicide. Sqt. Norman Vuksinick, Deputy Ray Jeffs and Det. Sgt. Robert Blackburn investigated the scene.
