Two truck drivers were fatally injured on Nov. 11 at milepost 280 on SR-6 between Wellington and Green River just outside of Woodside. The two semis hit head on and both drivers were killed. The drivers were still in their trucks when both trucks caught on fire. Dying were drivers, Tommy Newell, 45 of Salt Lake City and Murey Odell, 34, of Payson. Newell was traveling west bound when for an unknown reason the semi crossed into the eastbound lane. The trucks hit head on. The accident closed the highway until early afternoon as the heat from the crash caused the asphalt to melt. Nielson Construction repaved 10-15 yards of roadway for UDOT.
