Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity of Castle Country is building a fully wheelchair accessible house in Castle Dale and can use your help. "The Santa Show"

The Encore Theater will present "The Santa Show" a Christmas family variety show at the Museum of the San Rafael on Dec. 9, 10 and 12 at 7 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children.

Senior Citizen Christmas Party

The Christmas party for Emery County senior citizens will be held at the Museum of the San Rafael on Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. Dinner is free, entertainment, prizes, and Santa will make an appearance. Sponsored by the Emery County Chamber of Commerce and Emery County.

Ferron Christmas Festival

The Ferron Christmas Festival will be held on Dec. 5 from 6-8 p.m. in the muilt-purpose building at the fair grounds. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there. There will be a snow flake and cookie contest, a sing along program and entertainment for the children. They can also make an ornament to take home.

Camp Dale DUP

The Camp Dale DUP's will hold their annual Christmas Party on Dec.12 at 1 p.m. at the Castle Dale Senior Citizen Center.

Farm Bill Sign-ups

USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will be accepting sign-ups for Farm Bill Conservation programs such as Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP), and Agricultural Management Assistance Program (AMA) until Dec. 31. Festival of Trees

Public Input ACT seeks Top Teachers

ACT is looking for outstanding secondary school teachers to participate in a summer program designed to help develop and evaluate ACT's test materials and classroom support materials. Christmas Music

The Huntington Glee Club and Women's Chorus will present an evening of Christmas music on Dec. 18 at the Huntington LDS Stake Center at 7:30 p.m. They will feature the cantata "Night of Miracles" by John W. Anderson.

Emery County Gun Club

The Emery County Gun Club, located next the Emery County Landfill, will be hosting shoots on Dec. 3, 17, and 31. Each shoot will begin at 1 p.m., but shooters can come anytime during the day as shoot continues throughout.

Conservation Program Deadlines

Gallery East

The Gallery East of the College of Eastern Utah is having their Keepers exhibition through Dec. 8. The exhibition features the best prints from the collection of Robert DeGroff. Hours are 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

The National Foster Parent Association is launching a Holiday Gift Drive for children of the Gulf Coast. More than 8,000 foster children in that area have been affected. Christmas Tree permits

The Price Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management, 125 South 600 West in Price will be selling Christmas tree permits for personal use from Nov. 21 to Dec. 23 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Christmas Extravaganza

A Christmas Extravaganza fundraiser will be held on Dec. 3 from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. at the Emery County Recreation Center. There will be trees and wreaths on display, booths, food, entertainment and Santa from noon-2 p.m. Decorated trees and wreaths will be auctioned off at 7 p.m. All proceeds will be donated to the Family Support and Children's Justice Center. There will be food handlers classes for all persons working in food handling establishments. Depression and Bipolar Alliance

A Depression and Bipolar Alliance (DBSA) support group is now forming in Sanpete County. DBSA groups are peer-led, confidential and supportive meetings for those who suffer from depression and bipolar syndrome, and their families and friends. Heber Valley Historic Railroad Schedule

MS Support Group

Womens Volleyball

Tip Line for Drug Violations

A tip line has been introduced in Emery County. The Emery County drug task force is requesting help from the residents to report any suspicious drug activity. The number is 381-2888, and all callers will remain anonymous. It is very important for citizens to be actively involved in helping remove drugs users and pushers from Emery County.

AWANA Club

AWANA club for children age 3 through sixth grade will be held at Desert Edge Christian Chapel on Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m. There will be fun, games, Bible lessons, treats and fun. The theme for this year is Red, White, and Blue, the Lord Loves You. For more information call 653-2361.

Project ChildSafe

New hours for the Pioneer Museum are 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Monday through Friday, and Saturday noon-4 p.m. Share your pioneer heritage with family and friends.

New Emery County Archives Hours

Emery County Archives now has new hours. The new hours are noon-5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The Archives is now under the supervision of the Emery County Recorder and a message may be left at that office at 381-2414.

Support Group for Parents

Financial Aid

CASA Volunteers Needed

Each year hundreds of children in Emery and Carbon counties become wards of the juvenile court system due to child abuse, neglect or abandonment. The child welfare system can only devote so much time and attention to each individual case and, consequently, to each individual child. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Volunteers are ordinary men and women who find it in their hearts and their schedules to help these abused and neglected children. Those interested in volunteering should contact Kerrie, the CASA coordinator at 435-381-5595.

Angels Have Wheels

All Medicare recipients should now be aware that if they suffer from conditions such as arthritis, cardiovascular disease, and respiratory disorders, and have difficulty walking or propelling a standard wheelchair, they maybe eligible to receive an electric wheelchair paid for by Medicare. Help With Inhalers

Senior Mobility

The Senior Mobility Program makes available to senior citizens and the permanently disabled, power electric wheelchairs at no cost to the recipient, if they qualify. Call 1-800-451-0971 to see if you qualify.

Utah Valley Cancer Center

Utah Valley Cancer Center, located at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center has a new toll-free phone number. Anyone can call 1-866-549-3800 to schedule an appointment, get information about local cancer support groups or to find out more about IHC cancer services and physicians. Hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Eyeglasses for Lions Club

The Huntington Lions Club is gathering used eyeglasses to be distributed to needy people in Third World countries. There is a special need for childrens glasses. For more information, contact Judy Lang at 687-5349.

Donations are needed from Emery County residents to the Emery Chapter of the Salvation Army which provides emergency assistance for the people of Emery County as well as people traveling through the area. Union Local 6363

Attention, union meeting for local 6363 will be held the third Wednesday of every month at the District 22 office in Price. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m.
