Senior of the week: Esther Clark
Hi, my name is Esther Clark now. I was born Easter morning in Helper to James Bruce and Ruby Lemmon Willis. I lived in Helper and graduated from Carbon High. In 1963, I married Melvin Keith Hunter known to his friends as "Shorty". We had four wonderful children; Tracy, Gwenn, Terrie and Hawley Hunter, and we were given two great boys when they were three and four years old, Johnny and Albert Starzel.
I love the outdoors. I was a girl scout assistant and an assistant leader for the junior riding club in East Carbon, and along the way we were foster parents to 53 kids. I worked for Head Start as an assistant cook, a bus driver and a parent involvement coordinator. I enjoy them all.
I lost my first husband Keith to black lung in 1989. I married a man from Wyoming named Glen A. Clark, in 1993, so now I have 10 children, five boys and five girls, 33 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
After marrying Glen, we served two missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am now a bus driver for our senior center here in Green River. I love my work and the great seniors I am privileged to work with. I now enjoy crocheting, knitting and reading. I appreciate living in Green River and enjoy the peace of our small town.
