Letter to the Editor: Denial about the Middle East
To those in denial as to what is going on in the Middle East and to those heaping scorn on Israel for the current crisis.
First: Since its inception in 1948, Israel has sought peace with its neighbors, yet the Arab-world continues to work for Israel's destruction. At the forefront of the Arab consortium seeking the demise of Israel are the terrorist organizations of Hamas and Hezbollah.
Second: Lebanon and Palestine are being held hostage by Hezbollah and Hamas; Arab terrorists use the countries as staging grounds for attacks against Israel. The current retaliation is a reaction to recent attacks.
Israeli Prime Minister Golda Mier saw the answer clearly when she said, "Peace will come when the Arabs love their children more than they hate us."
