The Emery Heat recently completed a successful Super League Season for the Rocky Mountain School of Baseball. Coached by Dave Hreinson, Shon Roper and Kelly Mortensen, the team ended the regular spring season with a 14-2 record, giving them first place in the southern region and ranked third in the state for the 9-year old division. Because of their success, the team was invited to participate in the Tournament of Champions held July 20-22 in Heber City.

Only the top eight teams in the state for the 9-year old division qualified to participate based on regular season and tournament play. Emery won their first game against the Spanish Fork Sugar Kings 11-1, dropping the second game to the Utah Rebels, 10-3. They lost their third game to the Northern Utah Padres, 5-4 and beat the Orem Titans 6-3. With a 2-2 record, they advanced to the semi-finals as number three seed. They beat the number-one ranked team in the state, the Utah Black Sox, 6-4, and advanced to the finals. They faced the Northern Utah Padres again, losing 13-7 in the championship game. The results from the tournament pushed the Heat into a second place state ranking in the 9-year-old division.
