The 2006 softball season came to a close with a perfect record of 18-0 for the 14-18 year old Castle Dale (Lake) girls. After ending the regular season with 14 wins-0 losses the team went on to win their first three games in the final tournament. On Friday night they met the team from Orangeville for the championship game. With strong batting, tough defense, 15 strikeouts from pitcher Leslee Lake, and a three run home run from Danee Merrill, Castle Dale came out ahead 7-3. The coaches all agree that it took team work, enthusiasm and a willingness to give 100 percent that made the season so successful. The team appreciates coaches Kerry Lake, Candy Price and Wayne Maxfield for their time and dedication to help them be better players.
