Mario Arlotti

HELPER/SAN GABRIEL, Calif. - Mario U. Arlotti, 88, died June 13, 2002 at the San Gabriel Valley Medical Center.

He was born June 17, 1913 in Savuto, Italy to Peter and Giovanna Zimbaro Arlotti. Mario married Minnie Romano Sept. 20, 1952 in Helper and they lived in San Gabriel, Calif. since then.

Mario came to the United States when he was seven. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps for three and one half years during World War II. Life member of Price Elks Lodge 1550 where he received his 60 year pin. Two of his favorite pastimes were gardening and working in his wood shop, making beautiful pieces of furniture for his family and friends, and articles for his church fiesta.

He is survived by wife, Minnie; two sons, Frank, Tucson, Ariz.; Philip, Hesperia, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Rose; brothers, John, Dominic, Joseph and niece, Mary.

Graveside service was held June 21, 11 a.m., Mountain View Cemetery, Helper. Family was at Mitchell Funeral Home Thursday evening, 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services.

Virginia Nichols

SPRING GLEN - Our loving mother and grandmother of five generations, Virginia Johnson Nichols, age 88, died June 19, 2002 in Price.

She was born March 20, 1914 in Orangeville, to Joseph Arthur and Eliza Nora Sampson Johnson. Married Harry R. Nichols Feb. 1, 1930 in Price. He died Sept. 14, 1984.

Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Virginia was a lifelong resident of Carbon and Emery counties and a resident of Spring Glen since 1943. Mom loved cooking and caring for her family and will be dearly missed by all.

Survived by four sons, one daughter and spouses, Mel-Corky (Sandy) Nichols, Price; Robert (Betty) Nichols, Orem; Bill (Sandy) Nichols, Carbonville; Fred Nichols, Price; Connie (Paul) Cutler, Stanton, Calif.; brothers, Lyle (Pat) Johnson, Pocatello, Ida.; Wayne (Francis) Johnson, Evanston, Wyo.; 19 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren and three great-great-great-granddaughters. Preceded in death by son, Gary Nichols; grandson, Larry Alan Nichols; daughters-in-law, Beulah, Bonnie and Garaldine Nichols; five brothers and two sisters.

Funeral service was held June 22,11 a.m., Spring Glen LDS Ward. Family was at Mitchell Funeral Home Friday evening, 7 to 8 p.m. and at the church Saturday one hour prior to service. Interment, Mountain View Cemetery, Helper.

Blake Anderson

WELLINGTON/WENDOVER, Nev. - God called our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, Blake Lee Anderson, home June 22, 2002 in Wendover, Nev.

Blake Lee Anderson was born to Harry L. Anderson and Myrtle Lacy Anderson in Moab, Dec. 20, 1958.

Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Blake attended Wellington Elementary, Mont Harmon Junior High, Carbon High School and in 1978 moved to Wendover, Nev. with his family. He worked in the oil fields in Utah and Wyoming. Dealing poker, craps and 21 was Blake's expertise. He enjoyed playing chess with his uncle Earl. His greatest joys were his nieces and nephews and he had a big heart when it came to his family.

Missing and loving him, mother, Myrtle Lacy Anderson, Wendover, Nev; sisters and brother, Angel (Mike) Dalpiaz, Helper; Troy (Lisa) Anderson, Colo.; Jolene (Craig) Wyatt, Colo.; grandmother, Velma Anderson, Carbonville; nieces and nephews, Bridget and Robert Kinder, Michael and Kirsten Dalpiaz, Jeana Dalpiaz, Troy Lee and Jamie Anderson, Josh and Jennie Anderson, Nick Wyatt, Katy Anderson and many family members and friends. Waiting to welcome him back home were his father; youngest brother, Lane; niece, Christa Ridl; grandparents; special uncle, Earl Lacy Jr.; and many other relatives.

Funeral service Wednesday, June 26, 1 p.m., Wellington 4th LDS Ward Chapel. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 E. Main Street in Price Tuesday evening, 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church Wednesday, noon to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Wellington City cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Utah Alliance for the Mentally Ill, 501 S. Chipeta Way, Salt Lake City, UT 84108 to further research schizophrenia.
