Citizens participate in early voting

Tom and Grace Humphrey assisted by clerk/auditor Brenda Dugmore exercise their option to vote early.

This is the first election year that county residents have been able to be involved in early voting. The voting began on Oct. 23 and concluded on Nov. 3. The early voting took place in the county clerk's office where two electronic voting machines awaited the patrons.

Residents have long had the option to vote by absentee ballot if they were going to be gone on election day or if travel to the polls wasn't an option for them.

This year absentee ballots have been sent in and 326 voters used the early voting option to make their voice known in the county, state and national political scene.

Election day is Nov. 7 this year and election results will be published in the Nov. 14 Emery County Progress.
