Public Notice for Green River flooding

Notice is hereby given that the Emery County Farm Service Agency (FSA) is going to fund the following flood repairs to the Green River Canal that occurred in the Green River area on Oct. 5-6, 2006. Described as Sec. 20, 29, 30, 31, 32, T20S, R16E and Sec. 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 15, 16, T21S, R16E, SLBM.

Activities include, grading and leveling of canal banks, repair of structures within the canal system and cleaning flood debris form the Green River canal. Canal cleaning will be within the existing rights-of-way.

These actions are needed to restore the canal system to a functional status for use. There are no know hazards to the function of the flood plain of the Green River resulting from these proposed actions. There are no know alternatives to these proposed repairs.

Public comment will be received from March 15 through March 29. Comments should be directed to Kent Jorgensen, County Executive Director, Emery County FSA Office, PO Box 758, 1120 North Des-Bee-Dove Road, Castle Dale, UT 84513. Comment period ends March 29.

Baseball Camp

The third annual baseball camp will be held March 23-24 at the Huntington Complex from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. The cost for the camp is $65 for two days or $35 for one day. If you would like your child to have some one on one time with an instructor, the cost is $25 for a half hour. Boys and girls age 8 and up are encouraged to attend. Lunch is provided. Fast Pitch Instruction

Fast pitch instruction will be given March 23-24 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the baseball camp. For more information contact Shaun or Kris Bell at 748-2906.
