Worship Service

The Desert Edge Christian chapel will hold their annual Bear Canyon Worship Service at the Bear Canyon Campground in Huntington Canyon on Aug. 11 at 11 a.m. The agenda includes Spanish Mission Commissioning, baptisms, barbeque, potluck lunch and games. Everyone is welcome at this activity. Call 687-2933 for more information. The Spanish Church of Rock Springs Worship Team will also be at the event.

Disaster Awareness and Preparedness Fair

A Disaster Awareness and Preparedness Fair will be held on Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Green River LDS Church gym. The fair will be presented by the City of Green River, Emery County Sheriff's Office, GRHS and Bookcliff Elementary, Emery County Extension Office, American Red Cross and Green River Library.

Canyon View Football

Football starts on Aug. 15 at 6 p.m. There will be a participation fee, that includes shorts, mouth piece, shirts, socks, and equipment rental. You will need a physical if you did not play sports at the junior high school last year. Any questions call coach Eric Mortensen 687-5022.

1992 Class Reunion

There will be a class reunion for all 1992 graduates on Aug. 16-17. On August 16, dining with your significant other and classmates at the Museum of the San Rafael at 7 p.m. On August 17, bring the kids, a picnic lunch and your water toys for entertainment at the Millsite State Park at 12 p.m. RSVP by Aug. 9 to; Tiffany Nelson Sorensen, Box 697, Ferron; Jodi Jeffs Willson, Box 753, Ferron; Melissa McKell Winters, Box 625, Orangeville.

Technicolor Dreamcoat

Auditions for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat will be held on Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. at the Ferron LDS Church, 200 North State Street. There will be roles for narrators, 12 brothers and solos. Audition packets are available at all libraries.

Benefit for Rocky Olsen

Huntington Lion's Club presents the 2nd Annual Country Hoe Down in benefit for Rocky Olsen who has Leukemia. It will be held on Aug. 17 at the Huntington park. There will be a BBQ dinner and raffle from 5-7 p.m. and entertainment by the Val Jensen's RT 10 Band from 7-9 p.m.

Veterans, Widows and Dependents

A field Service Officer from the Veterans of Foreign Wars, will be in the area to assist you in understanding and applying for rightful VA benefits, preparing and documenting application for compensation, pension, hospitalization and other benefits. This is a free service and veterans need not be members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars to qualify for assistance. The VFW Field Service Officer will be working out of the Price Workforce Service Center from 9-11 a.m. on August 21.

Advisory Panel Members

The Utah arts Council is accepting nominations for advisory panelists to serve November 1, 2002 through November 1, 2004. If you wish to nominate yourself or someone else for panel service, write to; Panelist Nominations, Utah Arts Council, 617 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah 84102-1177 by July 22. Please include the name and address, and daytime phone of the nominee. Also include a list of the nominee's qualifications, i.e., arts expertise/background, occupation, and organizational affiliations. Nominations without a qualifications list cannot be considered.
