Altamont pins Spartan wrestling team

The Altamont wrestling team came to the Spartan Center last Wednesday night and left with a convincing 41-24 victory over the host Emery High Spartans.

Emery won four matches, all by pins, while losing seven matches.

Winning for Emery were Jace Guymon, Cade Whittle, Landon Huntsman and Cyal Christmas.

Losing matches on the night were Joey Stream at 112, Clay Collard at 119, McKay Allred at 125, Hayden Hatch at 135, Cort Jensen at 140, Mike Jones at 189 and Drew Bohn at 215.

Jace Guymon at 145 lbs. pinned his man in the second round to grab Emery's first win of the night.

Cade Whittle followed at 152 lbs. with another pin, also in the second round. Landon Huntsman at 160 lbs. followed with another pin and Cyal Christmas got the last victory of the night. Cyal's win came at 275 lbs. and he pinned his man in the first round.

Emery also wrestled in the Carbon duals last weekend and that story is set for next week when the stats are available.
