Local family welcomes New Year's baby

Proud parents, Tabatha and Rene Escalante of Green River with new baby, Kyiree, the first baby of the new year born at Castleview Hospital to Emery County parents.

The first baby born to Emery County parents at the Castle Valley hospital in Price arrived on Jan. 5 at 12:17 p.m. She was 6 pounds 9.5 ounces and 19.5 inches long. The baby has been named Kyiree Dawn Escalante. Her proud mom is Tabatha Escalante, 18 and her dad is Rene' Escalante, 18. The family is from Green River. Baby Kyiree is part of a large family including: grandmother Debra Lemon, uncle Aaron Higby, grandparents Charles Ray Higby, David Lemon, Alicia and Ernesto Escalante.

As part of the fun of being the New Year's baby for Emery County, little Kyiree will receive a number of prizes from local merchants including: $10 gift certificate to All Scrapped Up in Price, two packages of diapers from Stewarts Market in Castle Dale, one package of diapers from Smiths, $25 gift certificate to Bills Home Furnishings, one year subscription to the Emery County Progress. $25 gift certificate from Earls Home Furnishings, $20 gift certificate from Gordon's Floral, free baby album from Anns Hallmark, $25 gift certificate from Hard Hat Furniture, two gallons of paint from Magnuson Lumber. $50 savings certificate from Eastern Utah Community Credit Union, free car seat, free baby ad in the Progress.
