Canyon View Sweetheart Pageant

Contestants and their escorts: Kelsey Gordon and Kramer Kemple; Jordan Ward and Tyler Rowley; D'Lee Gardner and Colton Collard; Lexie Stokes and Tyrell Clement Jessica Guymon and Tyler Pulli.

Canyon View Junior High sponsored their annual Sweetheart Pageant on Feb. 15 at the school. Five contestants participated in interview, talent, evening wear and on-stage question. The contestants each had an escort to accompany them in the competition. Roma Brotherson serves as pageant director.

Canyon View sweetheart for 2007 was Crystal Richardson. She served as master of ceremonies for the event along with school principal Larry Davis. Contestants and their escorts included: Lexie Stokes and Tyrell Clement; D'Lee Gardner and Colton Collard; Kelsey Gordon and Kramer Kemple; Jordan Ward and Tyler Rowley; Jessica Guymon and Tyler Pulli.

The judges for the pageant were Jalee Stilson, Staci Moss and Jeanette Woolsey. Auditors for the pageant were Shirley Baltzer and Jackie Weihing.

At the end of the tabulations: Kelsey Gordon was awarded Miss Congeniality. Jordan Ward was awarded best talent. D'Lee Gardner was the second attendant, Lexie Stokes was voted first attendant and the 2008 Sweetheart is Jessica Guymon.

To add to the enjoyment of the event, teacher, Curt Collard was the auctioneer for the cake sale. The proceeds of the cake auction will go for operating expenses for the pageant and the rest will be donated to Ryan Thompson who is in need of a liver transplant.
