Letter to the Editor: Oil company profits

By GALE ANDERSON
Huntington

Editor,

Exxon proclaims $11 billion in profits. They are one of the biggest oil and gas companies in the world.

I cannot hardly afford to drive to work on a daily basis, even carpooling. Recreation driving and a vacation trip is, well, pretty much out of the question for a lot of folks.

I challenge all of our elected government officials in this great USA, starting with our Commissioners Kofford, Horrocks and Sitterud right on up through the state levels, including Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. and on to the president of these United States, to publicly tell us if they plan to do anything to help us reduce these prices. If so, what do they plan to do?

I think that the majority of at least the working force in this great nation deserves to know.
