On Aug. 11, the Desert Edge Christian Chapel of Huntington hosted its annual canyon worship service in Huntington Canyon at the Bear Creek Campground. During this service, the Spanish Speaking Mission was commissioned and three of their members were baptized along with one member from Desert Edge.. Pastor Zaq Rodriquez from the Rock Springs, Wyo. church, comes to Huntington to preside over the Spanish Speaking Mission every other Thursday and they meet at the Desert Edge Christian Chapel. Saul Rodriquez, Pastor Zaq's son, is the interpreter for the group.Shawnee Barnes, a member of Desert Edge, shared her testimony with well over 200 people that were gathered for the celebration. A large contingent from the Price Chapel were also on hand to enjoy the festivities and the Pot Luck dinner after the service.
