Nominations Sought for Soil Conservation Districts

The Utah Soil Conservation Commission is now taking nominations for two of the five elected board member positions on each of the 38 Soil Conservation Districts across the state, locally the San Rafael Soil Conservation District and the Green River Soil Conservation District. These boards make important decisions on programs affecting local soil, water, and related natural resources on private lands, for now and in the future.

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and be a resident of the soil conservation district in which they will serve. Service to these boards is a much needed community service that also serves our state and nation. Candidate nomination petition and ballot request forms and further information can be obtained by calling Hallie Lemon of the local SCD office at 687-2986.Nominations are due by Jan. 7.
