Five firefighters from Castle Dale Volunteer Fire Department recently received their Fire Fighter 1 certification. To achieve this they attended four months of classroom and hands on training including such skills as flashover, search and rescue, live fire training, forcible entry, hazardous material, initial attack and many others. The training gave the firefighters needed training to improve their skills. The Fire Fighter 1 certification is recognized throughout the United States and is needed to be considered for employment by most full-time fire departments. This is a great accomplishment for these firefighters and their efforts should be commended. These firefighters from Castle Dale Fire Department receiving their certifications are, from left to right,: Scott Larsen, Judy Behling, Glade Longmore, Scott Burgess, and Janarie Larsen.
