Last Thursday, the Emery High tennis team hosted the Carbon Dinos in a region match with the Spartans sweeping the first year team from Price.

Carbon has not participated in girls tennis until this season and the Carbon girls are still learning the sport.

Emery's first doubles team of Adrienne Weihing and Melanie Frisbee defeated their opponent 6-1, 6-0. Emery's second doubles team of Courtney Sitterud and Brittney Hansen won their match at 6-1, 6-3.

Emery's singles players also each won their individual match. Whitney Saupan won 6-0, 6-0. Katie Turner won 6-0, 6-1. Tonya Higbee won 6-0, 6-0.

Emery had a JV doubles team also play and win. Gabby Guymon and Anna Turner won 6-0, 6-2.

This week Emery will travel to Delta on Tuesday and to North Sanpete on Wednesday.

Coach Tom Hansen is happy with the performances of each of his players and believes that each will continue to get better as the season progresses.
