Emery County Sheriff LaMar Guymon said there are periodic checks by the Utah Highway Patrol on the buses passing through Green River. One of these periodic checks resulted in a drug bust. The marijuana was estimated to be more than 100 pounds and was concealed and camoflauged in three suitcases. A K-9 officer from the Utah Highway patrol still detected the marijuana.
A 57 year old woman was arrested in connection with the marijuana and is being held in the Emery County Detention Center. She has been booked on possession charges with intent to distribute a controlled substance. Her arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday.
