Local writing contest invites would-be authors
Local author and parenting expert Wendy Green is working on a book aimed at helping parents teach their children about money, life and success. She is welcoming local authors to submit their own stories for potential publication in her book. All stories will be considered for inclusion with an award of $100 for the best story. Stories should be positive, well-written, and under 1,000 words. Any story or idea relating to teaching children principles relating to life and success will be considered. Authors may submit ideas from their own experiences as a parent, teacher, child, or observer. Emery High School Plays
Watch for future productions, in January, beginning drama plays, in February, Snoopy will be presented, and in May, a yet unnamed play will be given.

Swearing In Ceremony
The swearing in ceremony for the Emery County elected officials will be held Jan. 5, 2009 at noon in the commission chambers. Laurie Pitchforth will be sworn in as Emery County Commissioner and Steven Stream will be sworn in as Justice Court Judge. The public is welcome to attend and refreshments will be served.
