HELPER-Barbara Mae Lopez Marvidikis, age 71, passed away Feb. 7, 2009 after a lengthy illness at her home. She was born May 8, 1937 in Helper, Utah to Charles Adolph and Irene Julander Lopez.

Married William "Bill" Marvidikis, July 16, 1956 in Las Vegas, Nev.; he died Dec. 11, 1998.

Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Barbara was a longtime resident of Carbon County where she owned and operated the Marvidikis Dance Studio in Helper and Barbara's Fashion Boutique in Price and Helper. She enjoyed music and was an accomplished pianist. She loved animals and was an active supporter of the humane society.

She is survived by three daughters and one son, Athena Carlile, Stephanie Marvidikis, McRay Marvidikis, Sabrina Marvidikis; five grandchildren, Monique and Tyler Carlile, Stevie and Joshua Marvidikis, and her special girl Caylyne Marvidikis; and three great-grandchildren, Kyson, Olivia and Evelyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral service, Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, 12 noon, Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell's Wednesday one hour prior to service. Interment, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily.
