New AA Meeting

A newly established AA meeting will be held every Monday night from 7-8 p.m. at the Huntington Senior Center, 176 West 100 North.

Desert Edge Christian Chapel Website

Desert Edge Christian Chapel in Huntington is hosting a new website, Information about services, current events, comments, prayer requests, sermons and Bible studies times are available on line.

Breakfast Provided by Senator Bob Bennett

Castle Dale Rabies Clinic

Castle Dale City dog licenses are delinquent after March 1. A rabies clinic will be held Feb. 25, from 3-5 p.m. at the fire station. Licenses may be purchased from animal control officer Windy Larsen by calling 381-5204 or at the city hall during normal working hours.

Evening Adult Art Classes

Evening adult art classes with Michael Royall, Emery High art teacher. Painting and ceramics classes will begin March 10 for ceramics and March 11 for painting. Classes meet weekly for two hours, 7-9 p.m. and will last for eight weeks. Sign up for one or both. Pre-pay tuition at Emery High School office 435-381-2689. $80 for each class (materials are included.) Tuition must be paid before the start of class. Bring your creativity and have some fun. Hurry class sizes are limited.

Emery County Community Theatre presents "NunSense"

The Emery County Community Theatre is presenting the musical "Nunsense", a musical comedy by Dan Goggin. This hilarious play is sure to bring delight to the teen and older audience. It will be presented March 12, 13, and 14 at 7 p.m. at the Emery High School auditorium. Tickets are $5 per person. Don't miss it.

Emery County in High "Spirits"

The Emery County Historical Society welcomes you to join them to learn about Emery County during the prohibition era. Bootlegging, stills, and saloons, Feb. 26, 6:30 p.m., at the Museum of the San Rafael. They are encouraging everyone to come and share their knowledge of what went on in Emery County during this "spiritual" time of our history. You won't want to miss this evening. See you there Don't forget - dues $5.

St. Patrick's Day Dance

A St. Patricks Day dance featuring "Music of the Heart" will be held on March 13 from 7-9:30 p.m. at the Price Senior Citizens Center. The public of all ages is welcome. There will be refreshments and door prizes. Donations are suggested. For more information contact Annette at 637-0161.

Emery County Recreation First Annual Dodgeball Tournament

The tournament will be held March 21 at 9 a.m. at the Emery County Recreation Building, 75 South 400 East Castle Dale. Get your teams together and register at the Emery County Recreation Building before March 13. Teams must have six (or more) persons and can be made up of school business or family teams. Teams will be bracketed based on levels of players. The entry fee is $5 per person.

Weed and Pesticide Workshop in Green River

A weed and pesticide workshop will be held on Feb 26 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., in the Tamarisk Restaurant located at 1710 East Main Street in Green River. The workshop is sponsored and taught by the Green River Conservation District and USU Extension Service. Lunch will be provided. The cost for this workshop will be $12 per person. Those interested in attending, RSVP by Feb. 23, to the Utah Association of Conservation Districts at (435) 381-2300 ext. 101.

Prepare Your Family Garden

Come listen to Dennis Worwood from the Utah State Extension Service at the Ferron Library March 25 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. He will be discussing small family gardens. Now is the time to start preparing for the growing season. Stop by the library and see what Dennis has to say or ask a question or two.

Volunteers of America and RSVP to Walk To Russia

Volunteers of American, Retired Senior Volunteers and the Foster Grandparent Volunteers are sponsoring another walk for seniors in our county. The kick-off party for West Emery County will be March 17-18 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the RSVP office in Castle Dale. For Green River, the kick-off party will be March 24 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 1:30-3 p.m. at the Community Center in the Senior Center. If you don't have a pedometer, they will be available at the kick-off parties. It is 5,548 miles to Moscow. National Day of the American Cowboy

Utah cowboys representing all 29 counties in the State will be honored on July 2 during the 75th Anniversary celebration of the Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo. Anyone is welcome to nominate a deserving cowboy or cowgirl from within the county in which they reside to receive this prestigious honor. The nominee shall have made an outstanding contribution to the western heritage lifestyle and to the preservation of Utah's western and cowboy culture for future generations. Nominee should personify courage, hard work honesty, integrity, and patriotism. Nominee' may include working cowboy, rodeo cowboy, rancher, cattleman, cowboy entertainer, cowboy artist, cowboy musician, cowboy author, and others who have contributed to Utah's Cowboy and Western culture. Looking For Veterans

Dr. Harch is looking for veterans of either the Iraq war or the war in Afghanistan who have suffered traumatic brain injury or post traumatic stress disorder to participate in a free pilot trial of treatment that so far has had 100 percent beneficial results. Veterans who qualify will be flown to the clinic (and home later) free, and sponsors are making lodging, meals and transportation available at vastly reduced rates. Interested veterans are asked to call Dr. Harch's office in New Orleans for an interview at (504) 309-4948.

Learn To Be Self Sufficient

A class which teaches self sufficiency and using home food storage is being taught at the Courthouse in Castle Dale on March 6 at noon. Everyone is welcome to attend and be sure to bring a pot luck dish.

Utah Young Humanitarian Award Program

The purpose of this award is to recognize youth who excel at giving back to their communities and to inspire more youth to service. This award program which is in its fifth year, offers a $5,000 college scholarship and is open to all secondary and undergraduate college students in Utah, who are American citizens. Funding for the program is provided by Chase bank and Xmission internet services. Application packets have been mailed to scholarship counselors and service club leaders throughout the State. Judge For A Day

Students who believe TV dramas such as "Law and Order," are an accurate depiction of how the courts operate can judge for themselves as part of the fourth annual Judge for a Day program offered by the Utah State Courts.
